Radio Free Cybertron goes live with video for the first time. Figure King images tease Masterpiece Rodimus Prime, and the crew debates how close it can get to the animation model. IDW’s Comic-Con panel brings a Punch/Counterpunch miniseries and Don Figueroa’s return to the ongoing series. A red Jeep spotted on the Transformers 3 set sparks Roll Bar guesses, and a second Seacons deco surfaces. The crew closes by sharing toys they repurpose as other characters.

Figure King Teases Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
Figure King has images for Masterpiece Rodimus Prime. Brian thinks the art looks like stock animation line art. The crew notes that no Masterpiece has matched its animation model closely, though Rodimus may come closest. One host suggests a single Masterpiece that does both Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime. IDW Reveals Plans at San Diego Comic-Con
Aimee recaps IDW’s Comic-Con panel, covered by a TFW2005 forum member. A cover shows Hot Rod heading into space after the Matrix. Nick Roche will be on the cover and the next arc, and Don Figueroa returns to the ongoing series with a tweaked art style. Sector 7 follows Nefarious with a focus on the Simmons family. The Drift miniseries covers the Third Faction, and a Punch/Counterpunch miniseries follows. Alex Irvine, author of Exodus, is writing another Transformers novel. The crew questions why IDW keeps adding human-focused stories. [Source: TFW2005]
Red Jeep Spotted on the Transformers 3 Set
A red Jeep was spotted on the Transformers 3 set in Chicago. John first guessed Cliffjumper, then checked and found the Prime Cliffjumper is a muscle car. The chat suggests Roll Bar. The crew also mocks reports that the new female lead will be named Carly. [Source: not found]
Animation-Style Hot Rod, Galvatron and Cyclonus Three-Pack Packaging Revealed
Box art is out for the animated-style three-pack of Hot Rod, Galvatron and Cyclonus, in Universe 2.0 packaging. It is first exclusive to a Hong Kong toy show, and Big Bad Toy Store and TFSource are said to be carrying it. One host guesses it will be an Asian-market release like the earlier Bruticus and Superion Maximus sets. Another notes the packaging has no Japanese text. The crew likes Cyclonus but thinks Galvatron looks too white. [Source: not found]
Second Seacons Deco Surfaces
A second Seacons deco has surfaced, with factory sources calling it the standard retail version. It is less glossy and chromed than the Big Bad Toy Store U.S. exclusive. One host guesses it is the standard retail release for another market. [Source: not found]
BotCon 2003 Dance Party Video
Rob found a fan documentary of OTFCC 2003 built around its infamous dance party. Brian, Rob and JD remember the empty dance floor, the Transformers movie and Metallica remix, and leaving before it got wild.
Repurposed Toys
This week’s topic is toys repurposed as other characters. Brian’s pick is Robots in Disguise Fire Convoy as Big Red, who he says belongs in Generations. XV is turning the Universe Ratbat into Mindwipe and plans a black Huffer recolor as Motormaster or Menasor. JD used First Aid and the MicroMaster ambulance as Ratchet as a kid. Other ideas include the Rally Bots as Puzzler and a movie-style Brimstone as Cy-Kill. John says he never repurposed toys but built Gundam models instead.
