NewAge Turns Its Cyclonus Mold Into Depth Charge
Don shows off NewAge’s Legends-scale Depth Charge, made by turning its Cyclonus mold around backwards. He calls it an incredibly clever reuse. Chris notes a fan custom did something similar with a Generations Scourge years ago, and that Fun Publications simply redecoed Terradive instead. [Source: not found]
Legacy Velocitron Override Revealed
Hasbro’s daily reveals included Legacy Voyager Override for Walmart’s Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection, with photos shared by TF Show UK. Rumor had it pitched as a Studio Series Hot Rod retool, but it is a new mold. One host notes it is about Hot Rod’s size and worries about Voyager pricing, and cites precedents for retailer-exclusive new molds, like Walmart’s Dark of the Moon deluxe Optimus Prime and Target’s Buzzworthy hover car Bumblebee. Wheeljack64Josh in chat suggests it could be a pre-tool for a later mainline release. A host who owned the Cybertron toy calls this a much better take on the character. [Source: not found]
Super7 Ultimates Wave 1 Ships
Big Bad Toy Store began charging for Super7 Ultimates wave 1. Don thinks the shipping Ghost Starscream looks far off from the promo colors, and one host hears the Optimus Prime elbows barely bend. [Source: not found]
Wreck ‘N Rule Prime Universe Bulkhead and Diaclone Universe Twin Twist
The final Wreck ‘N Rule reveals were Prime Universe Bulkhead and Diaclone Universe Twin Twist. One host first took the leaked Bulkhead for a digibash, and another skipped it because regular Legacy Bulkhead is still on shelves. Twin Twist is the crowd favorite, with a Titan Master as its Diaclone driver. Per JT Prime, a second wave was originally pitched, and a host points out Topspin and Twin Twist share most of a mold. Mark Maher’s posts hint that fan response will decide whether more Wreckers follow. [Source: BWTF]
HasLab Victory Saber Engineering Update
Hasbro posted a roughly 40-minute Victory Saber update video presented by Evan. The crew reports Saber’s robot is about four and a half inches tall and the Brain of Courage is tiny. One host who watched it all says the first engineering pass is full of satisfying ratchets and clicks. [Source: not found]
Transformers x Top Gun Maverick Returns
Diecast reports Hasbro is reissuing the Transformers x Top Gun Maverick crossover with an updated box. The accessories change, and the volleyball is apparently gone. Chris suspects the jet licensor drove the original’s splotchy deco. Don is glad, since the aftermarket price had climbed. [Source: not found]
What We Got This Week
Diecast showed off the Fans Toys headmaster that forms Fortress Maximus’s head robot, with light-up eyes and a sword ring accessory, though he is not buying the full Fortress Maximus. He also finally got Legacy Kickback from Amazon.
Don had only non-Transformers pickups this week.
Brian opened Jazwares Transformers Micro Machines from a half case Kim bought, including Cliffjumper and Optimus Prime with a playset crate. He also found a second packaging variant of the Jada metallic figures set, and Kim found him a Beast Wars reissue Cybershark at Walmart.
