40th Anniversary HasLab Announced: Robots in Disguise 2001 Omega Prime
Don is thrilled with new Fire Convoy and Ultra Magnus figures, plus Blue Bolts as the weaponizer. He likes the improved proportions, the plastic wheels and the extra stability. Diecast backed it but calls it boring, too close to the originals and the wrong choice for the 40th anniversary. Chris notes Ultra Magnus would shelf-warm at retail, and that original designer Yuki is redesigning it. The crew agrees the stretch goals are weak, with the stands drawing the most scorn. Delivery is estimated for fall 2025. [Source: Hasbro Pulse]
Possible First Look at Legacy United Deluxe Chromia
Chromia is a new head on Animated Prowl in new colors. The crew calls it a fine Chromia, though nothing like her Cyberverse design. [Source: TFW2005]
Transformers Legacy United Deluxe Shard First Look
Shard is a crystal helicopter from the Legacy United rock vehicles. Most of the crew is not into it, though Don likes the idea. [Source: TFW2005]
Studio Series Concept Art Sunstreaker New Images
Brian takes back his earlier disgust; new photos make Sunstreaker look okay. The crew still worries the yellow ABS and nylon parts will not match. [Source: TFW2005]
First Look at Selects Five-Pack Wheeljack
The opaque blue makes Wheeljack’s oversized windshield more obvious, but the crew still prefers it to every earlier release. The painted face looks straight off an animation cel. [Source: Snakas Blog]
Super7 Beast Wars ReAction T-Wrecks Stock Images
The crew would buy T-Wrecks only on deep Target clearance. [Source: TFW2005]
Super7 Transformers Japanese ’86 Movie Poster Puzzle
The 1,000-piece puzzle costs $20. Matt ordered one to frame, and Brian likes the Japanese poster art. [Source: Super7]
Hasbro to Showcase Future Transformers Products at Nuremberg Toy Fair 2024
The German fair is trade-only, so the crew expects few photos. They recall the bald security guard blocking the first Combiner Wars Devastator photos. [Source: TFW2005]
Officially Licensed Transformers 40th Anniversary Devastator Jacket by Sugomono
After the Dinobot jacket comes a Devastator souvenir jacket. The crew loves it, but it costs 86,000 yen, about $700. [Source: TFW2005]
Beast Wars Again BWVS-06 Dinobot vs Tarantulas In-Hand Images
Chris calls Dinobot a lateral move. Tarantulas recasts purple parts in black and repaints them, just to get black elbows. The crew still recommends the set if you need either figure. [Source: TFW2005]
Transformers Tattoos at Dollar Tree
Chris added these for Brian. They use the evergreen style-guide art, and Brian’s kids love them. [Source: TFW2005]
What We Got This Week
Diecast
Diecast got Fans Hobby’s Machine Wars Soundwave, his third copy of the mold. His big item arrives tomorrow, and he won’t say what it is.
Don
Don got Mech Fans Toys’ metallic Hot Rod, a Legends-scale Rodimus with a Masterpiece-style trailer. It was about $25 after Show-Z Store reward points.
Matt
Matt got the retro movie Perceptor and the 40th anniversary Blaster with Steeljaw; Blaster’s brow paint ran on his copy. He also got Legacy United Animated Bumblebee about 15% off on Pulse. He likes it but finds it tiny for a Deluxe.
Chris
Chris got Legacy Thundertron from Paladin off his wish list and loves the deco. Hey Mickey brought him Origins Jazz, Velocitron Crasher and a better-condition Shadow Strip. He also found three Titans Return clones for $3 each, Battlemaster Airazor and a Rhinox Battlemaster.
Rob
Rob had nothing in Transformers this week.
Brian
Brian got Masterpiece Hoist from Amazon Japan; he thought he had canceled the order and isn’t sure he’ll keep it.
