Age of Primes Replaced by Age of Evolution Hasbro’s Age of Primes line is being retired and replaced by a new line called Age of Evolution. Brian and the crew walk through an extensive leak list sourced from JT Prime, including a Walmart Capsule with an unusually heavy assortment: two Deluxes, three Voyagers, a Leader, and a multi-pack. Notable Age of Evolution reveals include:
- Generations Deluxe Barricade — the first Generations Deluxe Barricade figure in the line
- Generations Deluxe Nightbird
- Generations Deluxe Collapse — unknown character; no one on the panel had any information
- Voyager G2 Megatron — the crew debated which mold this might use, noting the Earthrise Voyager G2 Megatron deco has already been released; this appears to be a different Voyager mold, not the Studio Series Megatron
- Voyager Animated Slipstream — Matt expressed cautious enthusiasm, noting recent Transformers Animated figures have been hit or miss
- Leader Animated Lugnut — well-received overall; Matt said he loves Transformers Animated but is keeping expectations measured based on recent Animated releases
- Leader Energon Scorponok — Brian expressed strong enthusiasm for the Energon Scorponok character and original toy; Rob noted the original Energon Scorponok and Dark Scorponok have structural issues similar to gold plastic syndrome, making a modern Leader-class redo welcome; Don observed that Hasbro has been improving at translating non-G1 Transformers continuities through the G1 aesthetic filter
- Generation Selects Titan Energon Tidal Wave — in Energon deco featuring white, fluorescent green, and lightning bolt colors; Don noted he wasn’t eager to re-purchase the Tidal Wave mold again
- Walmart Capsule: Megatron Rising Resistance (MGR RST)
- Generations Deluxe Rook — the crew clarified this is a Wind Charger repaint/retool originating from the Transformers Collector’s Club, not the more widely requested Combiner Wars Rook; Matt called out that Combiner Wars Cliff and Combiner Wars Tap Out deserve similar treatment
- Generations Deluxe Viper — previously leaked; Diecast expressed excitement
- Voyager Scoop — Matt predicted Voyager Scoop will be a Constructicon Scrapper repaint with a new head, noting the original Scoop and Scrapper toy transformations are nearly identical; Rob mentioned Scoop briefly served as a Devastator leg in IDW comics, suggesting the Devastator combiner connection will likely be retained in the mold
- Voyager Slash — the Legends-class Dinobot female Velociraptor character; the crew speculated a Voyager Slash could use the Dinobot mold with significant retooling
- Voyager Skyfire — described as a gray and purple jet; the crew identified this as a Robots in Disguise Skyfire homage based on the Machine Wars jet mold shared with Machine Wars Thundercracker and Machine Wars Skywarp
- Leader Snarl — possibly a straight re-release of the existing Leader Snarl, or potentially in swapped G2 Snarl colors
- Multi-pack — details unknown; Matt expressed hope for more Autobot Double Targetmaster figures
Yolopark AMK Thundercracker and Skywarp Two-Pack Yolopark revealed a G1 Thundercracker and Skywarp two-pack in the Yolopark AMK line. Brian noted he already owns the Yolopark AMK Starscream and will be picking up the Thundercracker and Skywarp two-pack. Diecast has the Yolopark AMK Pro Starscream and is waiting to see if AMK Pro versions of Thundercracker and Skywarp follow; Brian noted an AMK Pro release is not confirmed. Diecast also mentioned Yolopark announced an AMK Pro Bumblebee featuring a standard-looking face, as opposed to the non-Pro Bumblebee’s more stylized face.
CCXP 2026 — New Transformers Studio Series Reveals Coming New Transformers reveals are expected at CCXP 2026 in Mexico City. The announcement specifically referenced Transformers Studio Series. Matt noted the Transformers leak list is so far ahead that it’s unclear what could still be unrevealed at CCXP.
Auldey Transformers Mini Cardback Figures — New Images New images surfaced of Auldey Transformers mini cardback figures. Brian described the Auldey Transformers figures as slightly larger than World’s Smallest Transformers but comparable in size to Dollar Tree dollar-store Transformers figures or Page Puncher figures. The Auldey Transformers lineup includes Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Ironhide, Prowl, Bumblebee, Megatron, Soundwave, Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, and a golden Optimus Prime variant. Promo images show Optimus Prime and Bumblebee shopping for the Auldey figures on a miniature retail shelf with a shopping cart. Brian compared the Auldey Transformers figures to existing Takara Transformers keychains.
Blokees Transformers Lucky Draw Alloy Luster Surge Campaign Blokees announced a Lucky Draw promotion in Asia tied to purchases of the Blokees Transformers Galaxy version line. Prizes include tiered Blokees Galaxy version figures such as Galaxy version Nemesis Prime, Galaxy version Bitstream, and Galaxy version Hauler, among others. The Blokees Lucky Draw promotion is Asia-only. Diecast expressed frustration that Blokees Transformers exclusives are unavailable in the US market.
Hasbro Expands to Broadcast TV with New Hasbro Legends Channel Hasbro announced a new Hasbro Legends broadcast channel launching via GAIM (Get After It Media), a national broadcast network partner, targeting over 70 million US homes via digital sub-channels accessible by antenna. The Hasbro Legends channel will carry Hasbro brands including Transformers, G.I. Joe, My Little Pony, Power Rangers, and Jem and the Holograms, with planned expansion into streaming. Brian noted Transformers content already exists on YouTube and Pluto TV but said the Hasbro Legends channel reaches a broadcast antenna audience without displacing those platforms. No launch date for the Hasbro Legends channel was announced.
Sneak Energy x Transformers Collaboration Transformers-branded Sneak Energy drinks are releasing in May in two flavors: Frostberry Blast and Mango Meltdown. The Sneak Energy Transformers cans feature Optimus Prime and Bumblebee artwork. Each Sneak Energy Transformers can contains 150mg of caffeine and is zero sugar. Brian said both Sneak Energy Transformers flavors sound unappealing to him personally but acknowledged the collaboration would make good content.
NFL Transformers Wave 2 — Vikings, 49ers, and Bills Wave 2 of NFL Transformers figures was announced, featuring the Minnesota Vikings Transformer Skolgrin, the San Francisco 49ers Transformer Goal Rush, and the Buffalo Bills Transformer Blizzard. NFL Transformers Wave 2 retail price is $29.99, up from approximately $27 in NFL Transformers Wave 1. Diecast is still waiting on a Philadelphia Eagles NFL Transformer and expressed frustration at the continued omission.
DJS/BS01 Masterpiece-Scale IDW Ultra Magnus — Skybreaker Third-party company DJS (sold through BS01, and confirmed to be Craftsman Toys — the same company behind the Legends-class Computron Technobot combiner set) announced a Masterpiece-scale IDW Ultra Magnus figure designated Skybreaker. Don noted Craftsman Toys’ quality on the Computron Technobots set was strong, which bodes well for the IDW Ultra Magnus Skybreaker. Rob observed the Craftsman Toys IDW Ultra Magnus pairs naturally with the Flame Toys IDW Cyclonus announced the same week. The Craftsman Toys IDW Ultra Magnus Skybreaker is available at Show-Z Store. No Minimus Ambus figure is included.
Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri Cyclonus — Official Images Official images released for the Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri Cyclonus at approximately $400 USD. The Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri Cyclonus stands 210mm tall, features LED light-up eyes and chest, and includes multiple swords including a large blade with scabbard — the sword referencing IDW Cyclonus’s weapon. Matt confirmed the Flame Toys Cyclonus horn design is IDW-inspired, with an optional single-horn configuration for a more IDW-accurate look. Rob noted the Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri Cyclonus and the Craftsman Toys IDW Ultra Magnus Skybreaker were announced simultaneously and look like natural display companions.
Steven Caple Jr. Not Directing New Transformers Live-Action Film Rise of the Beasts director Steven Caple Jr. confirmed he is not involved with the new Transformers live-action movie, though he still hopes to direct a Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover film in the future. Meanwhile, Michael Bay returning to direct the next Transformers live-action film has been heavily rumored following the underperformance of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The crew reacted with mixed feelings; Rob expressed hope that time away from the Transformers franchise would bring Michael Bay fresh ideas, noting diminishing creative returns across his later Transformers films.
Hasbro Pulse Liokaiser Address Confirmation Emails Hasbro Pulse sent emails to Liokaiser preorder customers asking them to confirm shipping addresses by April 23rd for the upcoming Hazlab Liokaiser release. Brian confirmed receiving the Hasbro Pulse Liokaiser address confirmation email and expressed strong excitement for the Liokaiser figure’s arrival.
What We Got This Week
Matt — Nothing this week.
Don — Picked up the X-Transbots Double Targetmaster Landfill, a retool and remold of the X-Transbots Long Haul into an Autobot Double Targetmaster. Don noted the X-Transbots Landfill looks good, materials feel solid, and includes two head options — likely a toy-deco head and a comic-deco head. Don purchased X-Transbots Landfill from Show-Z Store for approximately $60 less than domestic US pricing and received it in about 10 days. Don also received the Timelines two-pack of Optimus Prime and Starscream. Don praised the Timelines Optimus Prime — which achieves a convincing Optimus Prime robot mode from an ox-and-cart alt mode — as a standout piece of Transformers toy design engineering, saying it will be one of his most fondly regarded Transformers figures of the year. The Timelines Starscream was better than expected but has typical bird-former limitations, particularly in the lower legs.
Diecast — Found Transformers Generations Outback — a Brawn repaint — at a Walmart in Alabama while traveling for work, after Walmart.com had previously canceled his Outback order. Diecast is keeping the Transformers Outback sealed and will display it on the wall as a carded piece. Don revealed he also ended up with an extra Outback due to a separate Walmart.com order error that shipped unexpectedly.
Rob — Nothing on topic this week.
Brian — Revisited the Studio Series Transformers: The Movie Soundwave cassettes after a brief mention in Episode 983, and said upon further handling he finds the cassettes shockingly good for their size. Brian praised Studio Series Ravage specifically, calling him the best Ravage figure since the 2008 Masterpiece Ravage — with the only significant flaw being Ravage’s separate tail piece. Brian also picked up Voyager-class Nexus Prime at Target: he praised the Nexus Prime robot mode’s sharp red and blue colors and strong face sculpt, describing the figure as having a Transformers: Devastation aesthetic, but acknowledged the Nexus Prime alt mode is effectively a flat pancake and the overall value proposition is hard to justify at $43 unless purchased purely for robot-mode shelf display. Additionally, Brian purchased the Diaclone Shield D Prime Optimus Prime from Mandarake, inspired by John DeLuna’s discussion of the figure in Episode 983. Brian has not yet fully transformed the Diaclone Shield D Prime but noted it features extensive Diaclone-style pilot interaction points, numerous accessories, and an apparent battery-operated mouth-opening gimmick. Brian compared the Diaclone Shield D Prime favorably to modern Diaclone toys in terms of premium feel and strong ratcheting joints, and said he will deliver a fuller assessment in Episode 985 alongside a significantly larger incoming haul.
