Win a Beast Wars II Lio Convoy by Getting Bob Skir to Promo RFC
In a Mission: Impossible-style briefing, RFC offers a never-opened Japanese Beast Wars II Lio Convoy as the prize. BotCon 2000 runs July 28 to 30, and Bob Skir, aka BeastBob1, is among the guests. To win, record him saying, “Hi, this is Bob Skir, and you’re listening to Radio Free Cybertron,” with his approval to use it. Entries are due by August 31, 2000, and there are no second prizes.
The Computer Takes Over
The episode runs as a story. The Computer reports Transmetal 2 Jasontron destroyed, declares the Earth fallen and croons a rewritten “War.” He rages each time another RFC segment gets through. He orders a cloaked RFC ship destroyed after it relays a message calling the show from two weeks ago an experiment. He fumes that GoldenMist.com used his voice without permission. Finally he sets course for Earth to crush the rebellion.
ATT Buzz
John DeLuna says new Beast Machines Basics and Beast Wars Mutants are turning up. Only two Mutants have recycled names, and Gekobot carries on the skinny tradition started by Pterogator. The group traded unpopular toy opinions. John defends Optimal Optimus, who he thinks was overhyped and overpriced at launch, and Metroplex, whose size complaints he dismisses, pointing to Blaster looking Devastator in the eye.
Fans also asked why most prefer cartoon continuity over the comics. John’s answer is that the cartoon was most fans’ first exposure, not that the comic is worse, “although it did get a little strange.” The most heated thread of the week was about Transformers smut sites, which John didn’t know existed.

Mopboi crashes the show, then explains why last week’s show was delayed. The crew locked Jasontron in a basement and played him his own show until only purple goo remained.
Toy Review: Beast Machines Thrust
Goldimus Prime reviews Thrust, the second-wave Deluxe Vehicon motorcycle. The bike is purple with yellow stripes and chrome hubcaps, and unlike Barrage or Jetstorm it is a fully Cybertronian design rather than a modified Earth vehicle. Transformation is manageable once you learn the tricks. Goldimus finds the robot mode ugly. The six-inch legged mode is unstable because the front wheel forms the feet, so he prefers the four-inch three-wheel mode. He scores the vehicle 7 out of 10 and the robot 6 to 7, for 7 out of 10 overall: a good toy, but not essential.
RFC Parody: Transformers: The Movie, Part Two
Part two of the RFC parody of Transformers: The Movie stars ViceGripX as Hot Rod, Turin as Perceptor, Mopboi as Daniel Witwicky and Zobovor as everyone else, with “special guest star” Sean Connery as Kup. Hot Rod and Daniel watch the Smurfs while fishing. Perceptor can’t explain his own vocabulary, and half of Autobot City’s forces have the week off. Optimus Prime’s duel with Megatron ends with Prime warning Ultra Magnus not to let the Matrix fall into Hot Rod’s hands. Music comes from 3H Enterprises’ Till All Are One CD.
The Computer, now alone, blames Brian Kilby for the crumbs in his keyboard, sets his warp core to overload and destroys the Earth, and Radio Free Cybertron with it.
