Big Bad Toy Store has listed pre-orders for Generations Wheeljack and Thundercracker on this December 22, 2010 Radio Free Cybertron. Brian Kilby, Exvee, John DeLuna, JD Church, Aimee and Weebum also cover a leaked Dark of the Moon Bumblebee and word of a tanker truck Megatron. Aimee runs down delayed IDW comics and Simon Furman’s notes for Dreamwave’s unpublished G1 issue 14. The crew shares Christmas memories and last-minute gift picks, and Brian details the RFC year-end giveaway.

Exvee’s $4 BotCon Laserbeak
Exvee found a loose, complete BotCon Laserbeak for $4 at a Nashville comic shop, plus a Classics Cliffjumper for $10. Brian checks eBay and finds a loose Laserbeak and Buzzsaw that sold for $300. A loose Classics Cliffjumper recently sold for $35. The crew notes Universe Ironhide and Ratchet also go for big money, since Ratchet came at the tail end of the line.
Dark of the Moon Megatron Rumored as a Tanker Truck
A prototype picture suggests Megatron will be a tanker truck in Dark of the Moon. One host likes the change but hopes the robot mode looks significantly different. Aimee says her husband thinks it looks like it has a conjoined twin. The crew declines to link the pictures and notes Hasbro is trying to take them down. [Source: not found]
Generations Wheeljack and Thundercracker Up for Pre-Order
Big Bad Toy Store has listed pre-orders for Generations Wheeljack and Thundercracker, the first real confirmation of Thundercracker. One host expects a blue version of the Starscream mold. Another notes Thundercracker could have been a Reveal the Shield toy with a rub sign to match Skywarp and Starscream. [Source: Big Bad Toy Store]
Dark of the Moon Rumble Is Blue
The Dark of the Moon toy of Rumble is blue. One host says it breaks his heart, though another admits the cartoon made blue Rumble the most prominent version. One host notes fans can just call the red one Frenzy. [Source: not found]
Dark of the Moon Bumblebee Prototype Leaks
Pictures of what is probably a stolen Dark of the Moon deluxe Bumblebee prototype have surfaced. It has an oversized gun like a G2 accessory, a racing package and a larger spoiler. One host likes its toy-like look, and another is tired of getting the same Camaro in every film. The crew jokes about a Generation 2-style movie line with color-change battle damage. Get This Skinny Podcast Launches
Brian and JD have started a new weight-loss podcast, Get This Skinny, recorded live with show notes. They plan to cover good science for weight loss and track their own progress, and JD starts at 513 pounds. The show has its own Twitter feed, @GTSpodcast.
Comic News
Aimee reports that IDW’s Sector 7 issue 4 slipped and should arrive next Wednesday. Foundation issue 1 is also late after heavy edits and may not arrive until next year. Its cover is by Andrew Griffith with colors by Priscilla Tramontano. Simon Furman has posted his notes for Dreamwave’s unpublished Generation 1 ongoing issue 14 on his blog. Aimee says it links the ongoing to The War Within and features Jetfire and the Fallen. [Source: Simon Furman’s blog]
This Week in Transformers History
JD marks the anniversary of the G1 episode Fire on the Mountain, in which the Autobots dig Skyfire out of the ice for a ride to South America. The crew mocks the Autobots for leaving him frozen for several episodes. JD also notes the Headmasters episode titled Ultra Magnus Dies, saying Headmasters titles have no subtlety.
RFC Year-End Giveaway
Brian lays out the year-end contest: follow RFC on Facebook, Twitter, Ustream or YouTube via tfradio.net/contest. Prizes include Generations Blurr, Generations Darkmount and many Titan Transformers trades. The trades include Showdown, All Fall Down, Last Stand, Matrix Quest, Treason, Fallen Angel, Target 2006 and Earth Force. Also up for grabs are Titan magazines, an E&I T-shirt and a Fanboy vs. clock. Winners will be announced next week.
Favorite Transformers Christmas Memories
Brian wanted Omega Supreme as a kid, but his grandmother’s box was full of GoBots and Parasites. He says he wouldn’t trade those now. He also recalls breaking Slag within five minutes. JD got Double Dealer one year and Metroplex later, but once got Micro Machines instead of Micromasters. John DeLuna remembers getting Trypticon and still has the box with its KB Toys sticker. Aimee never got a Transformer as a child because her parents said they were for boys. The crew also discusses Robots in Disguise Megatron’s many modes.
Last-Minute Transformers Gift Ideas
Power Core Combiners still fill the pegs. The crew recommends the City Commander set, Human Alliance figures at discount stores for about $15, and Drift. For G1 fans, they suggest Generations Dirge, Soundwave and Masterpiece Grimlock if you can find him. One host calls the new Generations Jazz awesome, better than Tracks, though the hood doesn’t lock in robot mode. Another found Jazz at Kohl’s for under $11. JD would like the Last Stand of the Wreckers trade.
