NYCC Teases 2012 Transformers Prime Wave 1
Peter reports that Hasbro teased next year’s first Transformers Prime wave at New York Comic Con. Deluxes include Wheeljack, Soundwave and Cliffjumper, which one host calls a one-off character, a dead character and a character who doesn’t talk. Cyberverse Legion figures include a Vehicon, Ratchet, Arcee, Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. Commander figures include Optimus Prime with a new chest, Bulkhead, Megatron, Starscream and Wheeljack with his ship. The Commanders will have a light-up gimmick, which worries one host since translucent plastic ages badly. The crew also notes that Thundercats toys hit shelves while that show is on the air. Transformers Prime Season Two Panel
The season two panel promised more character deaths and a multi-episode story showing how Bumblebee lost his voice. Asked about Miko, the creators said she follows her heart over common sense and learns from her mistakes. The crew isn’t convinced. They want a Wheeljack who sticks around after the cost of his character model. Tony Todd is joining as Dreadwing, and the crew notes the show’s many Firefly alumni. [Source: not found]

Fall of Cybertron Teaser
A 20-second teaser for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is out, with the game due next fall. Notes from Game Informer say co-op is gone, Grimlock is not dumb and Jazz is playable with a grappling hook. Grimlock is a T-Rex on Cybertron, and the crew agrees he is one because it’s awesome. Transformers 4 and 5 Rumors
Rumors of Transformers 4 and 5 are back, including a recycled Jason Statham story. Michael Bay says he won’t direct, while Brian Goldner suggests otherwise. The crew expects a fourth film because the movies make money, and they joke about the plastic trophy Hasbro gave Bay. [Source: not found]

Review: Transformers Prime, One Shall Rise Part 3
The crew calls the finale continuity in a blender. Ratchet’s flashback recounts Orion Pax and Megatron’s story almost straight from War for Cybertron. The crew thinks it is a lazy exposition dump. Unicron’s defeat feels anticlimactic: the Autobots go to his core, Optimus opens the Matrix and Unicron is gone. Optimus reverts to Orion Pax, and the crew dislikes making Unicron the core of Earth. They worry Hasbro’s push for one continuity removes the surprise from new origin stories.
Several hosts want smaller, episodic stories like Beast Wars and Animated, rather than end-of-the-universe stakes every season. One host wants an Optimus Prime who actually knows what to do. The crew did enjoy Megatron’s genuine emotion at having his old friend back. The new season two trailer shows the Decepticon insignia being burned onto Orion Pax.
