A rumored Combiner Wars Devastator gift set leads the news, and the crew expects it to be 2015’s Titan Class answer to Metroplex. The Transformers: The Movie soundtrack returns on 180-gram vinyl, and Jagex layoffs cast more doubt on Transformers Universe. Generations Arcee gets a running change to her hands, and third parties tease a Masterpiece-size Scourge and yet another not-Cy-Kill. A hoarse Brian leans on the crew, and Don remembers watching Rebirth when it debuted 27 years ago.

The Transformers: The Movie Soundtrack Returns on Vinyl
A new 180-gram pressing is available in the US through Amazon for $50.99, with the first 1,000 copies in clear blue. Exvee explains that the price reflects importing from a label based in the Netherlands. One host has always wanted to find an original in the wild and plans to buy it. One host recalls finding an original copy for $2.25 in a Wilmington comic shop’s record bin. [Source: not found]
Generations Arcee Running Change
Generations Arcee now comes with either closed or open fists. One host explains that the newer open hands add a plastic ridge that makes her swords hard to hold. The closed-fist version is preferable. Don plans to get one carded for Susan Blu to sign, one loose and the Takara Tomy version. [Source: not found]
Jagex Layoffs Cloud Transformers Universe
Jagex, developer of the Transformers Universe online game, expects layoffs after disappointing results. The crew is not surprised. They think the three years between announcement and launch killed interest, and nobody got to keep the character names reserved at BotCon. [Source: not found]
Rumored Combiner Wars Devastator Gift Set
A source who correctly revealed the Toys R Us Masterpiece Sunstorm says a Combiner Wars Devastator is coming as a gift set. Exvee notes a box set lets six figures share the same colors, which a split case assortment cannot. He expects it to be 2015’s big Titan Class item, priced near Metroplex but in a much smaller box. The crew guesses San Diego Comic-Con could get a G2 yellow version. Don asks whether the slide-lock connectors will force limbs to face one way, and the crew thinks the parts will be interchangeable. X-Transbots Andras
X-Transbots reveals Andras, a Masterpiece-size homage to G1 Scourge. The crew would rather see a good Galvatron or Cyclonus. One host notes that Fans Toys canceled its Soundwave once Takara Tomy announced one, so some third parties do avoid official overlaps. [Source: not found]
KFC’s Masterpiece-Size Not-Cy-Kill
KFC plans a Masterpiece-size not-Cy-Kill, a repaint of its upcoming not-Wreck-Gar. Brian sees no point after Unique Toys’ Salmore line, and the crew blames a saturated third-party market. One host would buy it in green and black. [Source: not found]
Not-Alpha Trion Titanium Sage
A third-party Titanium-style Alpha Trion transforms into a spaceship. Brian likes it, and one host enjoys its Cybertron-era look but passes at $115. Others find the face off-putting but credit the attempt, since the original never transformed. [Source: not found]
Comics Reviews at TFormers
Exvee reviews The Transformers #35, which Brian suggests should be renamed Transformers: Prowl. Rob Clay is glad Primacy is ending and enjoys Transformers vs. G.I. Joe. Drift: Empire of Stone starts in December. [Source: TFormers]
Q&A with Rob Springer
TransFanatics asks whether the old “Rumble is red, Frenzy is blue” debate is moot since cartoon Rumble is purple. Rob says the toy Rumble is black with red trim, so the debate misses the point. The crew pitches a two-pack of identical parts in both colors, labeled Rumble and Frenzy with no clue which is which.
This Week in History
Rebirth debuted 27 years ago this week, in November 1987. Don was 17 and caught part two after missing part one. One host once asked writer David Wise about it at BotCon. Wise said it was planned as five parts before being cut to three, with nothing written beyond early ideas. Brian calls Rebirth one of his favorite episodes.
What We Got This Week
Brian Brian picked up the new Beast Wars Optimus Primal reissue.
Rob Rob got Generations Crosscut and Rattrap, and another host says Crosscut fixed Skids’s leg issues. His flea market find is a bootleg Optimus Prime with nonsense packaging that says “Collect Them All Robots.”
Diecast Diecast found Age of Extinction Evac at Universal Studios, where figures sell for $25. He also got Slug.
