Wonderfest 2018 reveals Masterpiece Hound, a Masterpiece Convoy version 3 prototype and an animation-colors Wheeljack. The Transformers: The Movie returns to theaters for one night on September 27 through Fathom Events. Diecast’s new MP-41 Dinobot breaks an arm, and the crew questions Masterpiece quality at this price. Siege packaging art hints at a Hound retool with a Cybertron Hot Shot head, and Toys Alliance’s Soundwave holds a real cassette.
Masterpiece Dinobot in Hand
Diecast’s MP-41 Dinobot broke an arm ratchet on the first try. He finds the legs loose, the chest oversized and the neck too thick, and the figure too heavy to hold its own weight. The light-up eyes can switch to green, and pink paint is already chipping. Brian has one but has not transformed it yet, and says he would rather have the money. Another host worries about Masterpiece Megatron’s tolerances. Don argues that Hot Toys-level prices demand Hot Toys-level quality. Another host thinks Takara flew too close to the sun with an impossible design.

What We Got This Week
Diecast got MP-41 Dinobot, whose arm broke, plus Blast Off, which came mistransformed in the package. He also got the wave 3 Prime Masters and Legends Outback and Centausar, with Repugnus arriving tomorrow.
Brian has MP-41 Dinobot too but has not transformed it to robot mode yet.
Jason got Blast Off, now part of his Bruticus, and another Rippersnapper. He also got the wave 3 Legends and Prime Masters, plus Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime and Grimlock in new colors.
Chris did not buy anything, but a listener sent him a shirt from his Amazon wish list.
Matt got the Hot Soldiers Cliffjumper and Hubcap two-pack for $30, with Cliffjumper named Fly Over Mountain. The car modes are nice, though the robots are hollow from the back. Centausar and Outback bring him close to a complete minibot set. He also got the wave 3 Prime Masters Bludgeon, Bomb-Burst and Octopunch, Blast Off and Wreck-Gar from Robot Kingdom. Abominus, a second Terrorcon team and Predaking round out his week.
Rob got Blast Off. He explains that swapping the arms lets the shuttle-nose chest work as on the Japanese version, and Fort Max notes the US arms are misassembled but easy to fix.
Don got Studio Series Lockdown for $10 after Donanomics. His Blast Off is on its way.
John skipped MP-41 Dinobot. He got Blast Off, Repugnus and the second pressing of The Transformers: The Movie soundtrack for his wall.
