Legacy Breakdown gets an unofficial first look, and it turns out to be a light retool of Legacy Wildrider with a bright white deco. Target’s Buzzworthy Bumblebee line brings back Studio Series Jetwing Optimus Prime alongside NEST Ratchet and NEST Bonecrusher. Hasbro shows the Transformers: EarthSpark toy line and packaging at Oz Comic-Con in Sydney. The fully combined Masterpiece Raiden leaves the crew whelmed, and Brian transforms his boxed Tigertrack live on the show.

Target Buzzworthy Bumblebee Brings Back Jetwing Optimus Prime with NEST Ratchet and Bonecrusher
Target’s collector event revealed three Studio Series items. The Dark of the Moon Leader Class Jetwing Optimus Prime returns in new packaging, apparently the same toy inside. Ant credited the reissue to Ben raising it on a Hasbro call, though Brian thinks it was likely already in the works. Studio Series Ratchet gets a dark gray NEST deco. Studio Series Bonecrusher also joins NEST, and designer Sam Smith posted on Instagram that the idea is Bonecrusher infiltrating NEST. The crew points out the “All Hail Megatron” lettering on his sides and identifies his vehicle as a mine-clearing truck from the first movie. [Source: Autobase Aichi]
Hasbro Shows the Transformers: EarthSpark Toy Line at Oz Comic-Con Sydney
Ozformers shared photos of the EarthSpark toys on display in Sydney, including the first look at the packaging. One display box was already torn. The crew expects the line to play out like Cyberverse, with a smaller-scale deluxe. Brian wishes Hasbro would go all in on its current show instead of splitting into Generations. The new Megatron design, a blend of Alex Milne’s comic Megatron and Animated Megatron, wins fans, and Twitch is a must-buy for one host. Don pitches a Rescue Bots cameo in EarthSpark. Chris notes Hasbro deliberately kept Rescue Bots outside the Autobot and Decepticon conflict, and the crew agrees Legacy is the better home for that. [Source: TFW2005]
First Look at Legacy Breakdown
Unofficial photos show Legacy Breakdown as a mild retool of Legacy Wildrider. It gets a new chest, head and calves, plus a spoiler that has to come off to transform. To pay for those parts it ships with one gun instead of two. Chris notes the windshield hanging behind the robot is how Wildrider transforms too. Side-by-side photos with Combiner Wars Breakdown show the new deco is bright white rather than cream, which bothers several hosts more than the retool. Hyper Shadow points out in Discord that many collectors will leave the Stunticons in Menasor mode anyway. Chris suggests someone could make ratcheting knee joints so Menasor’s legs can face the other way. Wave three deluxes were already out in the Philippines, so the crew expects them in the US in late October or November. [Source: TFW2005 boards]
Fully Combined Masterpiece Raiden Shown at TakaraTomy Hobby Expo
The crew calls the combined Masterpiece Raiden about what they expected, neither better nor worse. Chris says it is squat and rounded where the Headmasters animation model is square and elongated. Someone jokes that what everyone really wanted was a Masterpiece Raiden that breaks down into Generations-style trains. [Source: TFW2005]
Transformers AR Card Game Turns Up in Hong Kong
The augmented reality card game lets players point a phone at a card to summon a character and battle. The cards are bilingual English and Chinese. Diecast notes it is playable in English, and Chris adds that the English assets would make a wider release easy. The crew doubts it will leave Hong Kong and mainland China unless it sells well. Its card art appears to pull from archive material, much like the old trading card game. [Source: TFW2005 boards]
What We Got This Week
Chris
Chris grabbed the last copy of a collaboration figure in stock at one retailer, about $30 after a store credit. Discord members tipped him off as stock ran down. He treats it as his G2 Soundwave, odd tampographs and all, down to guns made for a different toy.
Don
Don’s Transformers pickup is Legacy Cyclonus in toy colors, $41 at Nerd Bombers in Greensboro. Chris tells him to check the shoulder joints for discoloration, and his copy looks fine.
Rob
A Discord tip led Rob to Legacy Road Rage for $11 on Target’s site. He also finally got Buzzworthy Bumblebee Silverstreak. Road Rage frustrates him, and he does not expect to ever get it into car mode. Silverstreak is a nicer, easier transformation.
Diecast
Diecast is traveling, so his deliveries are waiting at home, including Legacy Wildrider. He also bought a discounted Super7 Optimus Prime just for the basketball, to pose with until Hasbro makes a BotBots basketball.
Matt
Matt had nothing this week. He is still recovering from transforming Masterpiece Shouki.
Brian
Brian likes Legacy Wheelie from Hasbro Pulse more than expected and calls the robot mode fine, if fidgety. Masterpiece Getsuei arrived from Amazon Japan, and he is leaving it boxed until the rest of the set ships. His highlight is a boxed 2003 G1 Tigertrack magazine exclusive with its stickers. He transformed it for the first time during the show.
