Masterpiece Hoist gets a first look, and the crew thinks he beats Trailbreaker. The full-color Masterpiece Trainbots fare worse, with Raiden looking round and squat, and the crew dubs them a Masterpiece trainwreck. Legacy Shadow Striker leaks as a pre-tool for Sideburn, and packaging prototypes surface for a lost 1990s Earth Wars line. Plus the four-tool story behind Studio Series 102 Optimus Prime and a TakaraTomy Optimus Primal that sold out on Pulse.

First Look at MP Hoist and Full Color MPG Kaen and Raiden
The crew thinks Masterpiece Hoist looks better than Trailbreaker, which always seemed to have too much Hoist built in. Don may swap out his X-Transbots version, and one host expects a Lift Ticket redeco to follow. In full color, Raiden looks round and squat to the crew. Kaen may have the best robot mode, but the crew dubs the Trainbots a Masterpiece trainwreck: pick a mode and never touch them again. One host says the kibble on Raiden looks like parts with nowhere better to go. [Source: Autobase Aichi]
Legacy Shadow Striker leaks, and it is clearly a pre-tool for Robots in Disguise 2001 Sideburn. One host likes the robot mode but is torn on the generic vehicle, since a licensed Dodge Viper is unlikely. Chris notes the vehicle matches Shadow Striker’s Cyberverse design art and expects a reshelled car when Sideburn comes. The crew hopes for OTFCC decos. A Discord member worries the Car Robots brothers could bring a giant-handed Strongarm for X-Brawn. [Source: Sonic Bomber Core]
Packaging Prototypes for an Unknown 1990s Earth Wars Subline
Transformers Toys shared packaging prototypes for a previously unknown Earth Wars line from the mid-1990s, styled like Beast Wars with a Cyberjet on the art. The crew suspects it was an early take on what became Machine Wars. Brian loves learning about lost projects like this, and another host wishes for a second Jim Sorenson art book covering the late 1990s. [Source: Transformers Toys]
Leaked First Look at BWVS-04 Tigatron vs Blackarachnia
TakaraTomy’s apparent BWVS-04 pairs Tigatron with a Blackarachnia that has orange spider legs, a look that once took swapping parts between two releases. One host is on his second Tigatron after his first yellowed, so a fresh one is welcome. [Source: TFW2005]
Symbiote Studios SDCC 2023 Slag Plush
Symbiote Studios has a $30 SDCC exclusive Slag plush. The crew finds it cute and figures Slag is the easiest Dinobot to make as a plush. [Source: TFW2005]
Studio Series 102 Optimus Prime Built From Four Tools
Sam Smith explains on Instagram that Studio Series 102 Rise of the Beasts Optimus Prime was budgeted as a partial retool of Studio Series 38. The team turned four new tools into an almost entirely new toy, keeping only the wheels and clear windshield. Chris says that also explains Target’s exclusive Voyager Optimus Prime. He prefers the new robot’s proportions but likes Studio Series 38’s vehicle mode better. [Source: Instagram]
TakaraTomy Rise of the Beasts Optimus Primal Sells Out on Pulse
A TakaraTomy-initiated Rise of the Beasts Optimus Primal sold out quickly on Hasbro Pulse, with a limit of three per person. A Big Bad Toy Store listing suggests it stands close to 12 inches. Chris calls it the most screen-accurate movie Primal yet, borrowing engineering from the Beast Wars Ultra Optimus Primal. Two hosts preordered from Big Bad Toy Store. [Source: Hasbro Pulse]

The popcorn tin should go on sale opening night. Brian is seeing the movie next week and wants the tin, not the popcorn. [Source: TFW2005]
Rise of the Beasts x Fortnite Collaboration
The Fortnite collaboration shrinks the Transformers to human size to fit the game. The crew jokes they have been Pretenders all along. [Source: TFW2005]

DNA Design Samurai Armor for Legacy Prowl
DNA Design’s $29.99 samurai armor for Legacy Prowl forms a sidecar and has a helmet that pops down over Prowl’s head. Brian preordered it, and Matt loves Prowl’s samurai armor. [Source: DNA Design]
Next Week’s Show Moves to Thursday
Next week’s live stream moves to Thursday, June 8, because Brian is seeing Rise of the Beasts.
What We Got This Week
Brian got Studio Series Gamer Edition Bumblebee as a birthday gift from Diecast. He has not transformed it yet, but he loves its built-in weapon storage and says it beats the original.
Don got mainline Rise of the Beasts Rhinox at Walmart, preferring its beast mode to the Studio Series version, and Legacy Swoop and Scar at Target. He also got a second Guardian Robot from TFSource’s $159 sale, using reward points to cover the tax.
Matt had nothing in Transformers this week, because he still cannot find anything he wants.
Rob had nothing this week.
Chris has not bought a Transformer since the R.E.D. Shockwave he showed last week.
Diecast had nothing in Transformers this week. He wants to take inventory before buying more and might narrow his G1 collection to a shelf of pristine boxed favorites.
