This week: We talk about that G1-inspired Optimus Prime. Plus we talk a lot about G2.
News
- One last item from Comic Con:
- During one on one Q&A sessions at SDCC, the topic of War For Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron came up, and how those games could use a rerelease with the new Gamer Edition figures in Studio Series. Evan Brooks reportedly said that Activision had lost the hard drives with those games, and Hasbro people had to actually rip 3D models off a retail copy of one of the games when working on the new toys. Some gaming/tech websites picked up on this and ran stories based on it, and the claim of Activision losing hard drives with game source code got an unexpected amount of attention.
Someone from Activision tweeted subsequently that the assertion they lost anything was false and they know where everything is (honest!), and that was followed shortly by Hasbro sending out a quick statement saying that it was a mistake to say Activision lost hard drives, and apologizing for the incident. No one seems very convinced that Activision actually has or knows where the data in question is though.

- The ultimate expression of G1 With Knees: A new retailer solicitation leak shows a poseable G1 toy-accurate Optimus Prime from TakaraTomy
- Comes in two versions: The genuinely toy-based, with trailer and all accessories, and a cartoon-restyled one with a different head, Matrix, and energon axe
- A similar Megatron image also turned up, but that’s already been quickly debunked as false. I only add it here to get its fakeness on the record. Optimus seems legit though.
