The Transformers Marvel Comic Turns 40

Via Ben Yee, the crew learned the US Marvel Transformers comic debuted 40 years ago that day. Don did not buy issue one because his dad thought comics were a waste of money. His first was issue 17, the Aerialbots issue, for 50 cents at a flea market.

Generations Selects GoBots Small Foot Possible First Look

First looks at Generations Selects Small Foot and Treads make the crew happy. Small Foot gets a new face on the Gears mold, and one host notes the original GoBot also had a pink face. Don thinks Treads, a straight Warpath redeco, is really a nod to the green Gutcruncher, since Treads needs some yellow. One host says Gears may be his favorite toy of the year and hopes for a new Power Glide. Matt suggested Rescue and Buggy Man if Bug Bite is not repeated. [Source: TFW2005]

Takara Tomy EarthSpark Deluxe Prowl Cancelled

Takara Tomy officially canceled ESD-10 Prowl, the EarthSpark Deluxe redeco. Chris says he is not weeping but burning with the fire of a thousand suns. It was the toy he was most looking forward to after Gears. He blames the karmic balance of Don finally getting his Soul of Chogokin Trion 3, and he hopes it is only delayed. [Source: TFW2005]

MeTV Toons to Air Challenge of the GoBots

MeTV is launching MeTV Toons, a classic cartoon channel available over the air and on streaming boxes. Challenge of the GoBots will air at 4 a.m. on Saturdays starting in late June. One host may get up at 4 a.m. just for the Saturday morning feeling. The crew picked through the schedule and listed shows they want added, like SWAT Kats, Mighty Max and Peter Pan and the Pirates. Masterpiece Movie Series MPM-15 Brawl Comparison Images

Comparison photos show Masterpiece Movie Series Brawl next to the 2007 Leader Class toy. Diecast called it the best thing in the show notes. One host will not buy it but says it is a great rendition, and the crew noted it may complete the 2007 movie Masterpiece cast. A chat member’s wish for a Masterpiece Cogman won some support. Transformers One 2-in-1 Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Masks New Stock Images

New stock images show the Transformers One 2-in-1 masks of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Optimus Prime looks new, while Bumblebee appears to reuse the last mask. One host has yet to buy one, and another called the Rise of the Beasts Optimus Primal mask a decent mask but not a great Transformer. [Source: TFW2005]

Transformers Studio Series 86 Leader Springer In-Hand Images

In-hand galleries arrived for Studio Series 86 Springer, Bumblebee movie Skywarp, Studio Series 86 Steeljaw and Bumblebee, the Ratchet and Brawn two-pack and Tidal Wave. In Demand Toys had several of these at a convention first. One host praised Springer’s face sculpt and how the new parts flow together, though he still dislikes the mint green hammer and the $60 price. Tidal Wave looks great, and one host can live with it not transforming directly from battleship to robot. [Source: Snakas Blog]

Yolopark AMK Mini House of Magnus Delta Magnus vs. Sunstorm 2-Pack

Yolopark’s AMK Mini Delta Magnus and Sunstorm two-pack appears to be a BotCon 2024 exclusive. One host texted Chris and Matt since it pairs both their favorite characters. Chris dislikes the Super7-style Starscream face and says the photos look heavily Photoshopped. [Source: TFW2005]

Salesone Transformers Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Best Friend Necklace Set

Salesone Transformers jewelry is at Hot Topic, from $8 earrings to a $12 to $15 necklace set. The crew said the best friend necklaces look like Dollar Tree figurines on a chain. The Starscream necklace and stud earrings look fine, if you want branded jewelry. [Source: TFW2005]
