Toy Fair 2025: First Look at the Transformers Cyberworld Toyline

Diecast attended Hasbro’s Toy Fair event, and his takeaway was that Mark likes trains and black and purple, like the new Trypticon colors. Cyberworld was the real newcomer. One host thinks it sits between the fun kid toys of old and today’s weaker kid lines. Scorponok stood out, and one host would love those colors on the Titan Scorponok. The Cyberworld Alpha Trion is IDW Riptide with a new head and colors, and Sky-Byte is now basically a Street Shark. Hasbro showed Age of the Primes Alchemist Prime and Vortex, a repack of Velocitron Crasher, and an SDCC-exclusive Void Rivals Jetfire set. Vortex looks almost Voyager-sized, and one host will buy a Swindle if it looks this good. Several hosts want the full Combaticons for Bruticus, plus every Bruticus repaint, from G2 to Ruination, Baldigus and Battle Gaia. Toy Fair 2025: Onyx Prime, Cybertron Sideways and Target Exclusives

Age of the Primes Onyx Prime can do its IDW quadruped mode, a bipedal robot mode and a multi-legged beast mode, but it is molded in worrying gold plastic. The big takeaway was Walmart’s Cybertron capsule, where Sideways looks like an all-new toy. One host suspects another budget trick like Override, which came from Studio Series Hot Rod’s budget, and Cosmos. Target’s Devastation two-pack has a great blue Decepticon soldier and a drab Conehead seeker. Its Optimus Primal swords nod to the game’s random weapon drops. Missing Link G1 Arcee Official Photos and Preorders

Missing Link G1 Arcee comes in two versions: the original prototype colors, and an anime-accurate head and paint job. One host ordered both. Don loves them and credits the engineers for turning a recent 3D-printed prototype into a finished toy. He placed a safety preorder for both through Amazon Japan while waiting for U.S. pricing. One host may skip the prototype colors because the cartoon version looks so good. The crew already wants Energon, Paradron Medic and Nightbird colors, and one host counts every Energon Arcee. Next Dramatic Capture Series Set: Cybertron Chase

Cybertron Chase brings the Origins Jazz, Bumblebee and Wheeljack to Japan, the trio from that one blip of original animation. It has minor deco changes, including a silver underside on Wheeljack’s shield, and reportedly a sixth fuel rod. The one fumble is keeping Bumblebee’s clear plastic instead of solid yellow with a painted windshield, which the crew dubbed a fumble for Bumble. Next Japanese Transformers Series Teased in TV Magazine

A TV Magazine page teases TakaraTomy’s next series with silhouettes that match the Wild King leak from late last year. More details should arrive by mid-March. What We Got This Week

Don

Don finally got Gamer Edition Skywarp for its colors, completing the trio. Suruga-ya’s free shipping weekend got him a Transformers Expo art book of movie-era toy photos and concept art for about $5. He also got the Bingo Toys sports car Optimus Prime for about $15 to $18 less than U.S. retail. It looks great in car mode, but has too much flat gray.

Diecast

Diecast received his two Hasbro Pulse metal display cards, limited to 500 pieces. He also got the X-Transbots Scrapper, the second figure in its Devastator, and thinks it is even better than its Long Haul. He just doesn’t want another green Devastator.

Matt

Matt snagged reissue Shrapnel in the movie packaging for about $20 from Walmart’s website, completing his G1 reissue Insecticons. The silver paint pops against the black and purple.

John

John had nothing in Transformers this week.

Rob

Rob’s only remotely on-topic pickup was a $12 AliExpress knockoff High Grade Gundam kit in Optimus Prime colors. To get the colors, it includes duplicate runners, including six chest plates, but only enough frame parts for one build.
