MP-47 Masterpiece Hound Rumored Product Details, Price and Release Date
Robot Kingdom has confirmed the price and release date, so the rest of the rumor likely holds. MP-47 Hound lists at 18,000 yen, which the crew notes is about twice what the original Autobot car Masterpieces cost. Online retailers are expected to sell it about 30 percent below list, with preorders opening Friday. Accessories include a hologram driver, a spare side mirror, hood parts, the key to Ravage’s cage and jerry cans. One host will buy it but says a disappointing Hound could end his Masterpiece buying. Don already has third-party Gun Dog, which stays on his third-party shelf. The crew debates whether the Jeep is licensed. [Source: TFormers]
Masterpiece MP-13 Soundwave With Laserbeak Reissue Announced
Takara Tomy is reissuing MP-13 Soundwave with Laserbeak for about $150 at import, less than Hound. John notes Amazon Japan lists it around $120. The crew points out that the Takara release has red eyes, while Brian’s Hasbro version has yellow. Brian orders one on the show, at about $156 shipped. One host recommends it to anyone who missed it, since there is no good third-party Soundwave. [Source: TFormers]
Transformers Siege Jetfire and Springer New Stock Photos
New stock photos show Siege Jetfire and Springer. One host still has Jetfire and Springer on preorder but cancelled Thundercracker. The crew thinks Springer balances all three modes well, despite the battle damage. One host debates whether it is worth replacing his Generations Springer. [Source: TFormers]
Tarn Power Burst Version Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri Limited Edition Figure
Flame Toys is releasing a more vibrant Power Burst version of its Kuro Kara Kuri Tarn. It is limited to 500 pieces, and the original ran about $400. One host worries about buyers of the first version when a nicer version follows. [Source: TFormers]
Red Wing Generations Selects In-Hand High-Res Images
In-hand photos show Generations Selects Red Wing with the same battle-damage pattern as Starscream. One host bets on an SDCC Rainmakers three-pack, the only thing that would get him to buy this mold. Another plans to sell his Starscream and keep Red Wing as his one copy. The crew recounts that the Red Wing deco originated with Fun Publications. [Source: TFormers]

The Transformers Trading Card Game is adding organized play at local game stores. Players can earn a Private Smashdown card and gold foil character cards. It builds to the Energon Invitational at PAX Unplugged, where the winner helps design a new card. [Source: TFormers]

Iron Factory IF-EX38 Optics Hunter Unofficial Legends Hound
Iron Factory’s Legends-scale Hound looks too beefy to the crew. One host thinks the bulk is there to keep the vehicle mode in proportion. [Source: TFormers]
Matrix Workshop MB-12 Siege Emperor Starscream Upgrade Kit

What We Got This Week
Brian bought a knockoff red G1 Beachcomber from the makers of G1 counterfeits, for about $15 shipped from China. It matches the original down to the Dunlop tires, though it lacks a rub sign. He also added a 1985 Happy Meal Cliffjumper to his 1985 Happy Meal Gears.
Diecast got Ocular Max’s Perfection Series Cosmos, one of his favorite characters. He also got more Ocean Designs Transformers stickers, including waterslide decals and old-style Decepticon logos. The metallic Magic Square Optimus Prime fixes his complaint about the original finish. He is considering cancelling MP-44 because he already has Magic Square and Transform Element versions. His last pickup is an Iron Factory two-pack, Kaon and Vos, toward their Tarn combiner.
Rob got Siege Laserbeak and Ravage from Amazon. Laserbeak is very nice, though Earth-style wings on a Cybertronian Laserbeak bug him. Ravage is another failed attempt to combine cats with geometry, but still the best Ravage in about ten years.
Don found nothing new in Transformers. He saw Siege Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime, but it would not ring up until its July date.
Matt added another Power of the Primes figure on the same mold, bringing him to nine. He plans to use the eight different Shapeways head kits for that mold.
Chris found one Siege Brunt. It is competent in both modes but does not break down into parts as flexibly as Cog and Six Gun. He got three Refraktors, and the camera mode is sturdy, with all the parts used. The instructions do not cover the camera, so he worked from photos. He likes the clean deco, the riot-gear look with shield and rifle, and the short robot mode. He is enjoying Refraktor far more than Brunt.
