Kingdom Wave 2 Deluxes Pass Korean Safety Review
Korea’s product safety office posted small in-box photos of upcoming Kingdom deluxes. They show Airazor, an Arcee repack, Huffer and the Fossilizer Ractonite. Brian and Chris both mistook Airazor for Dinobot at first. Chris expects Huffer to be a small deluxe, about Cliffjumper size, so he scales with past minibots. Another host is excited because a Huffer mold could mean Pipes. [Source: not found]
Kingdom Wave 2 Voyagers and Ultra Magnus Leak
Hours later, packaged leaks showed Airazor, Huffer, Voyager Inferno, Voyager Dinobot and a Leader Earth-mode Ultra Magnus. Chris says Ultra Magnus reportedly reuses the Siege toy, with an Earthrise Optimus Prime-style cab front and new chest armor. Inferno is a G1 Grapple retool, not the Beast Wars fire ant, which disappoints some fans. Brian jokes the wave is really Earthrise Wave 2 with Beast Wars. He notes Hasbro design team changes, with some toys handed off mid-development, such as Cyclonus. [Source: not found]
Third-Party Deals
TFSource has the Fans Project Glacial Lord set of five on sale for $149.99, and the orange Constructor set is also discounted. Diecast says he is past third-party toys and cancelled a Legends-scale Reflector set. He just wants to finish his X-Transbots Stunticons. [Source: not found]
What We Got This Week
Matt got Super Megatron from TFSource and likes it more than he expected. It shares only the legs, shoulders and forearms with Titans Return Galvatron. The plastic feels great, everything pegs together, and the reds pop. His one gripe is the hollow forearms. He also got Selects Bug Bite, which bugs him for using Cliffjumper parts, so he covered the Mercenary symbol with a Decepticon Reaper label. Selects Black Zarak is lost in forwarding.
Diecast got Kingdom Core Class Rattrap, Optimus Prime and Vertebreak, and is keeping Rattrap. He also got Selects Black Zarak, Bug Bite and the two Autobot Clones from Amazon.
Don got a second Earthrise Smokescreen for a planned shelf of unsung favorites.
Rob got Earthrise Sunstreaker from Wheeljack64. The mismatched paint is noticeable in room light, and the car really needs a spoiler, but he likes the transformation and articulation.
John got Selects Black Zarak and Bug Bite. Bug Bite’s Bumblebee head sculpt is really nice, and he may skip Netflix Bumblebee because he still loves the Classics version.
Brian got Transformers Battlegrounds for the Switch, a Cogman turbo changer, Hot House and Bug Bite. He also found Micron Legend Shockwave, the Japanese Tidal Wave, and the Surprise Pack Nemesis Prime with Slitherfang. He added G1 Omnibot Camshaft and a sealed Pioneer LaserDisc of Transformers: The Movie, now framed. Hasbro sent him Kingdom Wave 1, with peel-off sticker cards on the packaging. He calls Core Class Rattrap a scaled-down deluxe, and Paleotrex makes a great skeleton. Cheetor is his least favorite, with feet sticking out of the cheetah mode. Warpath’s turret turns, and Blackarachnia’s spider mode beats the Masterpiece. Optimus Primal has a great robot but a compromised beast mode. Megatron is a solid Leader despite soft-plastic seams. Cyclonus is his favorite, possibly his favorite Generations toy ever.
