That didn’t take long.
Following up on yesterday’s first look via IGN, Hasbro has shared with us the stock photos for the rest of Kingdom’s second wave. Click here for yesterday’s update with our first good look at Airazor, Dinobot, and Ultra Magnus.
Two new Core Class figures will be introduced in wave 2, Starscream and Megatron. Starscream gives the impression of trying to emulate the Earthrise Voyager toy in looks, but the proportions seem just a bit off in both modes.
Core Class Megatron is an entertaining miniaturization of the Siege and Earthrise designs, hitting most of the broad strokes surprisingly effectively. The best part by far in a love-it-or-hate-it kind of way is the tank’s main gun, which is a Megatron-shaped pistol attached to the front of the turret. Megatron can hold this as a gun, and a 5mm step-up peg also means that larger figures might be able to make use of it as well.
As we learned previously, the Deluxe assortment will include Fossilizer Ractonite, Huffer, and a repack of Earthrise Arcee in addition to the previously shown Airazor. Since Arcee is just a repack with no other changes, we don’t need to spend any time with that. So let’s look at the two new toys.
Ractonite’s robot mode looks a bit more awkward than Paleotrex’s, and we don’t get a look at any armor configurations in this batch of images. The beast mode looks pretty good, keeping up a pattern of generally pretty good looking skeletal forms.
And then there’s Huffer. A specific feature call out for Kingdom Huffer is the ability to pull Earthrise (or Kingdom repack) Optimus Prime’s trailer. But when Huffer isn’t doing that, the accessories for the robot mode become a truck bed, nicely filling out what might otherwise be a bland vehicle form. Huffer may be a little bit smaller Deluxe like Cliffjumper, but it looks about perfect.
Voyager Inferno is seen for the first time today. While naturally built off of Earthrise Grapple, Inferno gets a unique head (with the wing/fin/flaps on the sides!) as well as swapping out the crane for a telescoping ladder unit.
All of the reveals from yesterday and today have an on-sale date of April 1, 2021, with preorders opening at the usual assortment of retailers later this afternoon.
