Transformers Tuesday Reveals Sideswipe & Skywarp 2-Pack, And More!
Transformers Tuesday revealed another Amazon exclusive Battle Across Time two-pack: Sideswipe and Skywarp. This Skywarp is the Maximal from Beast Wars II, Takara’s take on Silverbolt, on the Airazor mold with a new head. Sideswipe gets an Earth mode retool that echoes Earthrise Sunstreaker, but it loses the ports used for aftermarket spoilers. The listed price of $44.99 rose to $52.99 on Amazon after Pulse sold out. Matt passes because the Sideswipe does not change enough. One host has a $44.99 preorder and is still on the fence. Don wishes a Pack Rat redeco had filled out the set instead. [Source: TFRadio]
Walgreens Red Alert on the Retooled Mold
Per JT Prime’s listings on TFW2005, Red Alert is coming as a Walgreens exclusive on the retooled Sideswipe mold. It carries the code name Red White Emergency Lamborghini and ships in solid cases of eight. The listing points to August, but the crew expects Walgreens exclusives closer to October. One host jokes the code name could hide Clampdown instead. Another host wants it simply to lose the Cybertronian printing on Siege Red Alert. [Source: not found]
(Apparently Official) In-Hand Pictures and Video Coverage of the Ark
Singapore site Geek Culture posted an unboxing and video of Titan Class Ark in final deco. The yellow leans paler than stock photos suggested, which one host does not mind on the Ark. The transformation runs roughly 24 to 30 steps, against the full day Unicron took. The Teletraan-1 mainframe robot looks large for a deluxe, and the Ark has amber light-piped eyes. The crew expects upgrade kits for the few gaps in ship mode. [Source: Geek Culture]
First Leaked Look at Kingdom Road Rage
The first look at Kingdom Road Rage shows Trax in red with a new head. Road Rage is listed as a Target exclusive, though not a RedCard item. The crew wants a third use of the mold as Loudpedal, and some want a yellow Alternators-style Trax. GameStop listings also point to Trax, Wingfinger and Scorponok arriving around June 18, and Rhinox turned up at an Arizona Target. [Source: Autobase Aichi]
Beast Wars Soft Vinyl Figures from Cutie1
Cutie1 announced super-deformed soft vinyl Beast Wars Megatron and Optimus Primal at about $50 each. They look like plush designs rendered in vinyl, with printed stitching and a zipper mouth. The figures are due in June 2022. The crew is amused, a little disturbed, and not buying. [Source: Cutie1]
What We Got This Week
Don used GameStop reward points on a ReAction Perceptor for about $8, despite minor box damage. His big pickup is the Fans Toys Red Snarl, which completes his set of their three released G2 Dinobots.
Rob got nothing this week.
Matt found the Netflix War for Cybertron DCS Army Drone and stripped off its battle damage paint. He repainted it into a near-black Ironhide and swapped in hands and tires from other Ironhide figures. He plans to repaint the blue windshield silver, an idea he credits to Chris.
John got the DK-20 upgrade kit for Studio Series Devastator, a first run with two wrecking balls. He has not opened it yet and promises a report next week.
Diecast found a tiny Galvatron for his Unicron shelf bagged inside a Taobao order. He also got X-Transbots Streetwise, Mastermind Creations’ Star Convoy and the Magic Square Motormaster. Star Convoy looks great, but its legs collapse too easily. His biggest box held a GigaPower Dinobot, even larger than the Fans Toys versions.
