Retailers slash Masterpiece Shouki preorders from about $209 to $160, and the crew wonders what that means for the full Raiden combiner. Masterpiece Skids, Crosscut and Reboost slip to mid-2022 in the US.
The first HasLab Victory Saber backer update lays out its 19 molds, and Chris explains the plastics behind them. Diecast rounds up Black Friday Transformers deals, and several hosts land Selects Galvatron.
Elf on a Shelf Warmer
Brian asks listeners to pick up a toy on sale for Black Friday and drop it in a donation box, a children’s home or a church toy drive. Tag photos with #ElfOnAShelfWarmer for a reshare, or send toys through tfradio.net/elf. He thanks Chris, Rob, Blade Raider and anonymous donors this week.

Black Friday Transformers Deals
Diecast rounds up Walmart’s Black Friday deals: Titan Class Ark for $120, reissue Beast Wars Megatron and Optimus Primal around $36, and Cheetor and Rattrap at $16.99. G1 reissue Blaster drops to $18.99 and the Sparkless Seeker battle pack to $29.99. R.E.D. Reformatting Megatron and Optimus Primal preorders fall to $14.99. Don notes Ollie’s is advertising Voyagers at $12.99, likely Earthrise Starscream. Hasbro Pulse promised Black Friday deals starting at 9 a.m. Eastern.
Limited Gigawatt Turns Up at Ross
A friend of the show found one of the numbered Walmart Gigawatt figures at Ross. Brian’s theory is that scalpers abandoned preorders once the regular version came out, and Walmart sent the unsold stock to liquidation. Only 1,985 were made, so the odds of finding one are slim.
Masterpiece Shouki Preorder Price Drops
Matt flags that retailers slashed Masterpiece Shouki preorders this week, from about $209 to about $160. One host suspects preorders fell short, since the HO-scale train does not suit Japanese model railroad fans. The crew worries that later Trainbots will cost more, or that low sales could end the Raiden set. Don suggests Moon Studios’ cheaper third-party Trainbots could benefit. One host’s Amazon Japan order comes to about $150 shipped.
Masterpiece Skids, Crosscut and Reboost Delayed in the US
US retailers pushed Masterpiece Skids, Crosscut and Reboost back to around July 2022, while Japanese listings still show this week. One host suspects the official US imports are a separate production run. The crew also notes Masterpiece Nightbird is coming.
First Victory Saber Backer Update: Mold Layouts
The first HasLab Victory Saber backer update shows how parts are grouped across 19 molds by color and plastic. Chris walks through it: nine opaque ABS runners, one clear ABS runner, eight nylon runners and one POM runner for the Brainmaster gears. He worries the sword blade sits on the clear runner, unless it is meant to be chromed. He hopes future updates keep sharing this kind of behind-the-scenes detail. [Source: TFRadio]
What We Got This Week
Rob got Generations Selects Galvatron, his first Kingdom Galvatron, chosen to be sure of correct shoulders. He likes it better than the retail version without battle damage, though he misses the red belt.
Chris also got Selects Galvatron and plans to skip the stickers. His Selects Artfire finally arrived from GameStop with the shortened pegs fixed and good quality control. He wishes for an adapter to mount Nightstick at the wrist.
Diecast, celebrating a new job, got two Mech Fans Toys legends-size figures, Falcon and Recyclers. He also got Selects Galvatron and Zeta’s Flash, a Bumblebee movie Blitzwing with a stunning jet mode and a frustrating transformation. His R.E.D. Bumblebee from Walmart is hysterically huge and may be his favorite R.E.D. figure.
Brian got Selects Galvatron and a Super7 ReAction Christmas Optimus Prime. He also got Project Jam Soundwave and plans to strip the J Balvin tampos for a G2-style look.
