Transformers Fan First Tuesday: Robosen Trailer and Roller
Hasbro’s Fan First Tuesday stream served as the makeup event for the canceled Toy Fair. Robosen revealed a trailer, Roller and a tiny Spike for its Optimus Prime at $749. The trailer is three feet long, and Roller is remote controlled. The crew is impressed but asks where anyone could drive a three-and-a-half-foot truck. One host notes the April 1 teaser misled fans into expecting Bumblebee. [Source: TFRadio]
Legacy Wave 2 Deluxes: Elita-1, Knock Out, Tarantulas and Wild Rider
Legacy Elita-1 is a dune buggy that one host calls a Wacky Racer, and an obvious pre-tool for a Walgreens Minerva. Knock Out retools Studio Series Jazz, and the crew loves the car mode. The hosts are glad Evan Brooks pushed for painted hubcaps. Tarantulas follows the Kingdom style, and one host calls it a perfect execution. Tech specs return as QR codes. Wild Rider’s vehicle mode is beautiful, though the split car kibble on his back draws complaints. Mark Maher said the fenders can close up into a traditional backpack. [Source: TFRadio]
Legacy Jhiaxus and Blitzwing
Voyager Jhiaxus is an all-new mold with the correct G2 Decepticon symbol, and the crew is thrilled. The hosts pitch Skyquake, Thunderwing and a Machine Wars Starscream as future uses. Leader Blitzwing has a good robot and tank mode, but the jet mode and its cannon hands draw jokes. One host likes the toy but balks at the Leader price. Others note the jet mode always suffers and most fans display Blitzwing as a tank. [Source: TFRadio]
Commander Class Motormaster and Menasor
Commander Class Motormaster forms a base from his trailer and becomes the core of Menasor. The crew loves how this solves the scale problems of the Combiner Wars version. Combiner Wars limbs should fit, though the arms are uncertain. The hosts dream up reuses: Thunderclash with the Turbomasters, a G2 Menasor, and Optimus Prime colors for the Masquerade team. Don floats Titan-priced combiner sets as a future for the Titan Class. [Source: TFRadio]
Siege Soundwave Reissue
Wave 2 also brings a Siege Soundwave reissue without the battle damage. Don cannot believe Hasbro skipped the Netflix Earthrise-style Soundwave, which commands high prices. The crew suspects a Walmart exclusivity window on that version. They also worry the reissue will hit at a higher Voyager price than the original sold for on clearance. [Source: TFRadio]
Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus Converts to Delta Magnus
Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus retools the Kingdom Ultra Magnus, with a second head that turns it into Delta Magnus. It includes the Legacy Optimus Prime energon weapons and a comic, which helps explain the price. Brian and Matt are delighted, and one host preordered two. Diecast and Don pass, since they have the mold or the Masterpiece already. One host would love a sheet of red Autobot symbols. [Source: TFRadio]
Shattered Glass Blaster Package Stock Photos Accidentally Revealed Early
Stock photos of Shattered Glass Blaster slipped out early through a Korean barcode site and were mirrored by Autobase Aichi. Blaster comes alone with a red Eject and Rewind, not in a two-pack with Soundwave as Don predicted. JT Prime adds in Discord that Core Class wave 2 brings G2 Megatron, a Core Optimus Prime repack and a new G1 Shockwave. [Source: Autobase Aichi]
Concept Art and Prototype Model for Legacy Motormaster and Menasor
Mark Maher posted several pages of concept art for Motormaster and Menasor. It includes a plain prototype model and the same model with sculpt detail drawn on. The crew recommends following Mark, Evan and Sam for design insights. [Source: Instagram]
Possible First Look at Diaclone Twin Twist and Parasite
Leaked photos show Twin Twist in Diaclone colors for Amazon’s exclusive Wreckers subline. A Kingdom Waspinator redeco called Parasite, based on a canceled Halloween Horrorcon, is headed to a Target four-pack. That pack is expected to include a Goldbug, a toy-deco Scorponok and a Ransack. Action Toys Ultimetals Rodimus Prime and Galvatron
Action Toys revealed Ultimetals Rodimus Prime and Galvatron at about $300 each, with light-up features. Don loves the Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime design and puts down the $30 deposit on air. One host thinks the style suits Hot Rod, whose animation model never looked like it transformed. [Source: Action Toys]
Reissue Cybershark Hits Walmart
The Walmart exclusive Beast Wars reissue Cybershark is starting to show up in stores, though it may still be on pallets. [Source: not found]
What We Got This Week
Chris got Core Class Iguanus. The robot mode is solid and poseable, but the motorcycle mode feels like a Pretender vehicle. He also got Black Ironhide from Hasbro Pulse, with the best quality control of any Earthrise van he has handled.
Matt finally got Black Ironhide, a long-time white whale, and Silverstreak, both from Hasbro Pulse. He loves the colors, though he wishes Black Ironhide had a name. He also got Studio Series 86 Perceptor, whose grayish blue does not bother him much, and Masterpiece Skids.
Don found Core Class Hot Rod at Target.
Diecast found the only Legacy Laser Optimus Prime on the shelf.
Rob had nothing in Transformers this week.
Brian got a box from Hasbro with Legacy Dragstrip, which he is passing to Matt. It also held Core Class Skywarp, Iguanus and Laser Optimus Prime. Brian separates Laser Prime from G1 Optimus Prime, so the Earthrise-style format does not quite click for him. He bought Core Class Rodimus and Micro Machines Bumblebee himself. He also got a boxed Universal Razorclaw listed as C9, which he says is closer to C6. Thirty AliExpress knockoff Minibots cost him about a dollar each. A mirrored acrylic case now holds his McDonald’s Minibots.
