Super7 reveals Transformers Ultimates wave 3, led by an official 11-inch Alligaticon from the Marvel comic City of Fear. The wave also brings a do-everything G2 Megatron, a Sunbow-style Tarn with Nickel and Wreck-Gar.
Chris breaks down a new Hasbro patent for locking toys into windowless packaging. Brian and Diecast get Masterpiece Skids and Reboost, and Don finally lands Doublecrosser at retail.
Elf on a Shelf Warmer
Brian makes one of his last pitches of the season for the Elf on a Shelf Warmer drive. He asks listeners to buy a new toy, ideally on clearance, and drop it in a Toys for Tots box or another charity that gives toys to kids. Collections close around mid-December, and listeners can also send toys through tfradio.net/elf.

Transformers Ultimates Wave 3: The Best Thing Ever?
Super7 revealed Transformers Ultimates wave 3, and the crew loves the two figures many fans dislike. Wreck-Gar is a solid choice with good accessories. Tarn comes in a Sunbow-style look with a tiny Nickel and her jet pack, the first licensed Tarn under $100. The G2 Megatron offers toy, comic and Sunbow-style heads and weapons. The standout is an official 11-inch Alligaticon from the City of Fear comic, with Optimus Prime’s severed head and a spire with his arm. One host says Ultimates does the R.E.D. concept better than R.E.D. does. A listener’s Discord quip about a $55 footlong became the episode title. [Source: TFRadio]
Hasbro Patents a Packaging Lock for Windowless Boxes
Chris explains a newly approved Hasbro patent for building locking points into toys that mate with the packaging. One example shows a figure with a loop on its back that a package piece holds, which then folds flush once removed. Chris sees it as a response to windowless boxes, where toys like Core Class Ravage are easy to pluck out. It could also cut ties and labor in packaging. He does not expect to see it before about 2023. [Source: not found]
What We Got This Week
Don got Doublecrosser, found on a shelf by his fiancée, after never seeing it at retail. He also got the Jurassic Park collaboration set for about $85 with reward points, and plans to keep it boxed. Draculus came from Target, though the packaging tore while he tried to save it.
Chris got Generations Selects Transmutate, a gift from Rob’s sister-in-law Angel, and likes its G2 Fossilizer-style colors.
Rob got the Amazon Sideswipe and Skywarp two-pack for about $37. He likes the Skywarp redeco, but Sideswipe’s knees are already weak.
Diecast got Draculus and Commander Class Rodimus Prime on sale. His Masterpiece Skids and Reboost arrived from Amazon Japan minutes before the show, and he had already transformed both. He also got the Transformers deck-building game, minus the promised bonus pack.
Brian transformed Masterpiece Skids and Reboost without instructions and calls them a return to the fun Masterpiece cars of years past. He loves Draculus, especially the tuxedo and cape. He also got another Origins Bumblebee and the Sideswipe and Skywarp pack. Cloud Megatron leaves him needing only Optimus Prime and Brawn. He also found a sealed Kid Rhino VHS of Transformers: The Movie.
