There Goes My Money is back after a hiatus, with Diecast returning to the hosting chair alongside Brian Kilby. Joining them this week: ShawnoKaiser, Spider-Bob (Bob Dejesus), Chris Triplett, and patron Kevin Dorsey. Exvee, the previous primary host, has been on leave; Brian and Diecast will alternate hosting going forward on a biweekly schedule. Patreon supporters at the Touch tier can find recording announcements at patreon.com/tfradio. Merch is available at tfradio.net/shirts.
Preorders
Hasbro Legacy / Movie Collection
Decepticon Blitzwing arrives as a cartoon-accurate release with fully painted accessory hands — a more animation-faithful take for collectors who missed the Triple Takeover set. The hosts largely passed, noting that Triple Takeover already covers the need at better value. Decepticon Cyclonus received significantly more attention: a remolded head, adjusted leg proportions, updated movie-accurate colors, and corrected ear placement make this a meaningful update over the original release. Brian called the original one of his toys of the year; Diecast says the dead-eye issue kept him from fully embracing it, but the corrections here have him interested. ShawnoKaiser has the new version ordered. Autobot Cliffjumper rounds out the Movie Collection wave — a retool of the Legacy Bumblebee mold with a new head and rear spoiler. At $28 for a minibot-sized deluxe, the price is the main objection, though the figure itself earns solid marks.
TakaraTomy — Masterpiece and Missing Link
Masterpiece MPG-23 Secret Agent Arcee is a repaint of MP-51 Arcee in prototype orange and pink colors, sold under the MPG label. Spider-Bob already owns the FansToys Azalea in similar colors and finds this version suffers from a design compromise — the torso was originally engineered around Nightbird’s extended kabuki mask, leaving Arcee’s proportions slightly awkward. The hosts largely agree the Missing Link version better serves collectors who want that color scheme in a more accessible form. Masterpiece MPG-22 brings Jaguar, Buzzsaw, and Ratbat as a cassette three-pack at roughly $100. Ratbat has historically only shipped with Masterpiece Soundblaster, making this the most practical standalone opportunity for the character — though the hosts were split on whether the value holds at that price.
Missing Link C-14 Ironhide is the standout TakaraTomy announcement. The figure takes significant liberties with the original Diaclone van mold — new head, reworked arms and feet — while retaining the original robot mode. The sled is gone, which ShawnoKaiser flags as a loss; the female Diaclone pilot can still sit inside. Spider-Bob pre-ordered it and made the case that Ironhide was always a weird toy, so a weird Missing Link version is exactly right. Brian noted he’s giving the line latitude to define itself as it grows. Ratchet is next in the Missing Link pipeline, and ShawnoKaiser has that one on his list.
TakaraTomy Studio Series pre-orders also opened with an estimated November 13, 2026 release: Deluxe Thundercracker (Transformers: The Movie), Deluxe Kranix, Deluxe Wheeljack, and Titan Class Age of Extinction Grimlock. The Grimlock generated the least enthusiasm in the room — Brian called it the Titan Class toy he has the least interest in, edging out Cybertron Metroplex. Kevin agreed, citing the movie origin and the price.
New Legends — NL-03 Nemesis Star Convoy
The Nemesis color repaint of Star Convoy is listed at approximately $270, which the hosts found difficult to justify for a figure that isn’t especially large and doesn’t include Micromaster Hot Rodimus. Brian acknowledged souring on it despite the appeal of the colorway. The New Legends line is unlikely to be discounted.
Third-Party
FansToys FT-32D Calatrava (Long Haul) is the fifth of six Constructicon figures in FansToys’ masterpiece-scaled Devastator. Diecast has the figure in hand and describes it as beautiful. Mixmaster is paid for and incoming; the complete set is expected this year. At roughly $200 per figure, the full Devastator runs close to $1,200 — a figure the hosts acknowledged with some dark humor. Diecast has approximately 15 Devastator figures across official and third-party releases. FansToys rarely offers repaints; a G2 Tonkinator variant was floated but considered unlikely.
Dr. Wu DWMC-05G is a Frenzy/Rumble-adjacent cassette figure in Bayverse styling — a two-speaker stereo alt mode. The design aesthetic divided the room, though Diecast highlighted Dr. Wu’s recent G1-styled successes (the laptop that transforms into Brains, Wheelie) as context. Also announced: Dr. Wu’s G2 Cyber Hercules set, a yellow redeco of their War Within Constructicon set combining into a yellow War Within Devastator. Sold as a limited edition box set at $130 for all six components, it prompted a lively “War Within vs. War for Cybertron” clarification among the hosts.
Licensed Builder/Model Kits — Blokees
Blokees Wave 10 One Shell Stand (Galaxy version) is in hand for Diecast, featuring Scorponox, Sixshot, Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, Cyclonus, Warpath, Trailbreaker, Rekar, and Brawn. Brian owns multiple waves but is behind on building — the Walmart retail footprint tends to cycle the same older waves. The full wave can be ordered directly from Blokees for roughly $60.
Blokees Defender Series 7 — Power of the Beast — is a 12-figure wave with a Beast Wars-heavy roster: Leo Convoy/Leo Prime, Galvatron (Beast), Magmatron, and others, plus G1 figures like Ratchet and Trypticon, and a clear Galvatron. Liokaiser appears in both lion and robot mode. Spider-Bob called Blokees therapeutic. Brian noted the Rodimus Prime figure might be his hook to finally start buying them consistently.
What We Got This Week
- Brian: Liokaiser (unopened), down payment on the limited-edition Transformers pinball machine (one of 750; arriving June or July), boxed Cloud Rodimus (second copy, from Mandarake), Action Master Megatron (from Transformer Land during their 10% off sale), Sideways (the motorcycle figure)
- Chris Triplette: Liokaiser (unopened), Powerglide
- Diecast: Powerglide (mixed review — gappy vehicle mode, uninspiring face, thruster kibble issues), Missing Link Ultra Magnus (heavy box, premium feel compared to the reissue), Gigastorm (via Mandarake, paid significantly in shipping for the heavy figure), Cloud Rodimus (boxed, purchased at BotCon some time ago)
- ShawnoKaiser: Liokaiser (two ordered — loves it; the waist connection requires decisive force to seat properly; vehicle mode has bottom kibble but otherwise excellent), Powerglide (disagrees with Diecast — calls it his favorite minibot release to date, bought two), first three of six Kranix figures (no gun storage in robot mode, but otherwise solid)
- Spider-Bob: Liokaiser (assembled, video posted on YouTube/TikTok/Instagram/Bluesky; Liozack-to-race-car waist connection requires sharp decisive pressure to click; Death Cobra left in vehicle mode for display; figures about a head shorter than Deathsaurus without wings), G1 Cliffjumper (pre-rub, circle Takara stamp — possible Type 1 — excellent condition, $20 shipped from Mercari), Nomura Toys Penny Racer Volkswagen Beetle (~1983, missing weight/turbine piece and non-functional pull-back motor, $10 shipped)
- Kevin Dorsey: Powerglide (unopened), Nexus Prime (likes the G1 aesthetic), G2 Combat Hero Optimus Prime (complete, no yellowing, missile launcher functional in truck mode — negotiated down from $85 to $45 at Toy Meister Toys in Virginia Beach antique store on Free Comic Book Day), GoBots Loco (complete, excellent paint, $15 shipped)
