Hasbro’s SDCC 2025 panel delivers a Leader Class Big Convoy, Deluxe Quickstrike, Sureshot with his Targetmaster and a brand-new seeker mold that Matt plans to buy in every color. Voyager Amalgamous Prime teases at least five more alternate modes, and Titan Class Age of Extinction Grimlock kicks off a planned run of Titan Dinobots. Before the panel, the crew sizes up Walmart’s Retro Seaspray and Brawn, the Hot Wheels Transformers cars and a clear Blokees Unicron head. In What We Got This Week, Matt builds a Devastation troop, and Brian lands a sealed Fire Guts and a red-cab Diaclone Powered Convoy.

Walmart Collectors Con Previews Retro Seaspray and Brawn
Walmart’s Collectors Con brings first looks at Retro Seaspray and Retro Brawn, and the crew thinks both look great. Brawn’s yellow thighs try to copy the color layout of the G1 toy on a figure that actually has hip joints. Seaspray appears to use only three or four plastic colors, which may mean Walmart is getting new molds on a reduced budget. Several hosts want a purple Seaspray to represent the G2 metallic version. One host wants a carded Seaspray to keep sealed because the retro packaging looks so good. [Source: TFW2005]
Hot Wheels Twin Mill and Bone Shaker Stock Images Revealed
Official stock images show the Hot Wheels and Transformers collaboration Twin Mill and Bone Shaker. As warned at Toy Fair, Twin Mill has plain blue plastic instead of shiny metallic paint, but it still looks sharp. Bone Shaker is the crew’s favorite, complete with a gear shift lever for a weapon. The packaging mimics an oversized Hot Wheels card, which tempts a couple of hosts to keep one sealed. [Source: TFW2005]
SDCC Exclusive Void Rivals Jetfire Set Gets New Promo Images
New promotional images show the SDCC exclusive Void Rivals Jetfire with Darak and Solila. One host asked to be talked into buying it, but nobody could. The set lacks most of Jetfire’s armor and gun add-ons, and the Autobot symbol is unpainted to match the comic. Most of the crew already owns the Commander Class Jetfire and doesn’t need a third version. [Source: TFW2005]
EarthSpark Deluxe Cosmos Stock Images Surface
Stock images show EarthSpark Deluxe Cosmos, and one host loves how different the robot mode looks. Diecast is not a fan of the tiny head or the little gun that looks like a turtle. A glow-in-the-dark Megatron, originally solicited as Cosmos’s wavemate, has turned up in stores. That suggests Cosmos may still reach retail, though probably in small numbers. [Source: TFW2005]
Adamas Machina AM-T02 Predaking Shown in Full Color
TFormers posted full-color photos of the Adamas Machina AM-T02 Predaking. One host notes that, like HasLab Liokaiser, the combined mode came first, so the four limbs are dwarfed by Razorclaw. It doesn’t match any existing collection scale, and the crew fears an astronomical price. [Source: TFormers]
Hong Kong Exclusive Battle Damage Studio Series 86 Optimus Prime
Hasbro Fan Expo 2025 in Hong Kong is offering a battle-damaged Studio Series 86 Optimus Prime, limited to 40 pieces. Attendees must spend 5,000 Hong Kong dollars, about $640, at the Hasbro booth to get one. Like last year’s battle-damaged Transformers One Optimus Prime, the extra paint may be applied by hand to a standard release. One host wants one but knows it won’t happen. [Source: TFW2005]
Possible First Look at Blokees Galaxy Unicron Head
A clear plastic Unicron head may be the Blokees Galaxy item from an upcoming assortment. There is no sign of a Blokees torso in it. The crew hopes it becomes a build-a-figure across several waves and imagines the light piping on a clear Unicron. [Source: TFW2005]
Age of the Primes Leader Onyx Prime Shown In Hand
In-hand photos show Age of the Primes Leader Onyx Prime, roughly as tall as The Fallen. The mask and possibly the bow are reported to be soft plastic. After such a long wait, much of the crew has lost interest in the all-bronze figure. One host canceled a preorder to save money for exclusives. [Source: TFW2005]
DNA Design Offers a Mechagodzilla Upgrade for Laser Optimus Prime
DNA Design’s DK-66 kit gives the Godzilla crossover Laser Optimus Prime a few Mechagodzilla touches. It reuses parts from its earlier Laser Optimus Prime kit and adds a backpack with double shoulder cannons. The crew agrees there isn’t much here that screams Kiryu. [Source: TFW2005]
SDCC 2025 Panel Reveals Big Convoy, a New Seeker Mold and More
Hasbro’s SDCC panel revealed a new seeker mold, and Matt will buy every one. A Leader Class Big Convoy may be one host’s toy of the year, and the crew is already begging for Ultra Mammoth. Deluxe Quickstrike skips the fragile clear plastic of the original, and Sureshot comes with his Targetmaster. The PulseCon Armada Nemesis Prime is only the cab robot with standard-color Star Saber Mini-Cons, which feels thin at a Commander price. Deluxe Blast Off, Voyager Brawl and an Onslaught render move Bruticus forward. Voyager Amalgamous Prime has at least five more alternate modes, according to Mark. The crew also liked Studio Series Windcharger’s tibia tilts and the new Thundercracker, but found Razorclaw’s colors flat. Titan Class Age of Extinction Grimlock leads a planned set of Titan Dinobots, which some hosts welcome as money saved. [Source: TFW2005]
Masters of the Universe and Transformers Crossover Revealed
Mattel revealed Masters of the Universe Origins crossovers: Megatron Armor Skeletor and Bumblebee Armor Man-At-Arms. Brian insists he hates them, though the crew doubts he’ll resist. One host likes how the Megatron armor looks. [Source: TFW2005]
Yolopark Shows AMK Beast Wars Kits
Yolopark is doing Beast Wars model kits, and the crew thinks they look amazing. Matt finally sees a path to a good Dinobot. [Source: TFW2005]
What We Got This Week
Rob
Rob had nothing in Transformers this week.
Matt
Matt got the Target three-pack of Perceptor, Ramhorn and Ratbat. Perceptor loses his clear plastic but gains darker colors and a cover for the back of his head, while Ramhorn beats Steeljaw and Ratbat is a striking raspberry. He also got the Commander two-pack of Long Haul and Hook with Devastator parts. Long Haul is completely redesigned, and Hook is much more substantial than his Combiner Wars version. He bought three Target Devastation two-packs to build a troop.
Diecast
Diecast received Alchemist Prime, a second Defcon to keep boxed, and the Perceptor three-pack. He also picked up the G2-colored Mastermind Creations space shuttle, his third of five pieces toward that combiner.
Chris
Chris had nothing new but followed up on Missing Link Sunstreaker. It still feels like playing with a G1 toy that can finally pose. Getting it back into car mode is a nightmare because the telescoping legs won’t easily release, though another host had no trouble with his.
Don
Don thanked wheeljack64 for picking up a TFCon-exclusive Brawl for his third-party Bruticus. He also thanked Toy Dojo for offering an Astrolift preorder before the convention. His Walmart Cybertron Sideswipe preorder survived the cancellations, and he bought the Perceptor three-pack for the cassettes. Studio Series Overload rounded things out at $22 on Target clearance.
Brian
Brian assembled the Yolopark AMK Starscream, Megatron and Optimus Prime kits, which sit on his desk at work. Prime Day deals went to his annual Toys for Tots donation. He picked up sealed Universe Ironhide and Cyclonus with Nightstick, Vortex, Missing Link Sunstreaker and Cordon, and a boxed G2 Laser Optimus Prime. He restored a battered Takara Superion box set with water-activated paper tape. More finds include a carded G2 Ramjet, a 1989 licensed Transformers book bag from Italy, a sealed Transmetal 2 Tigerhawk and a boxed Universe Nemesis Prime. The big ones are a boxed red-cab Diaclone Powered Convoy, missing only its two missiles, and a sealed Fire Guts. He knew nothing about the book bag and bought it anyway, which gave the episode its title.
